From the author
The Thud is the Federation's indirect fire answer to armored pushes, lobbing high-velocity plasma shells in a steep arc over intervening terrain. Its long reload and fragile frame mean it cannot take a hit, but a well-positioned battery can devastate grouped units before they ever close to effective range. Keep it screened and far from the front.
